This project will provide fourth and fifth grade classes at Vestal School the opportunity to expereincehands-on project based math, technology, engineering and science education right on a military base. This project supports a collaboration with the base to provide the materials and teachers needed to teach the hands-on project based lessons. Transportation to the bases will be provided to 60-65 students five times from October through November. All of the activities will target the required state benchmarks, which will enable the teachers to refer to the experiences at the military base throughout the school year to enrich classroom activities. Students will keep a journal of their learning and collect pictures to show their learning in action.
