Great River Children’s Museum (GRCM) and Great River Regional Library System (GRRL) are partnering to create The Rural Library Traveling Exhibit Project. The project’s purpose is to provide a rotating exhibit experience at the rural libraries of GRRL. GRCM is an emerging children’s museum in Central Minnesota, that supports hands-on learning and play inspire children and families to learn and grow together. The focus of this grant is the creation and implementation of a traveling pop-up exhibit that would initially travel to the 21 library branches that are considered rural and low-income. The goals include reaching children and their families with new and engaging content that would otherwise be inaccessible to them. Each pop-up exhibit will have hands-on activities that reflect the more extensive exhibits at the museum in Saint Cloud.
