Academic Enrichment Grant 2016-2017 Project Summary
Chris Briske
Ronan High School • Ronan, MT
The Ronan Student Nursing Partnership (RSNP) was developed to address the needs of the health care industry in Montana. A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program was created at Ronan High School in partnership with St. Luke Community Hospital and the Salish Kootenai College in Pablo, MT. The CNA program runs from 4-6 pm daily. Students in the RSNP are required to actively participate in the Health Occupation Student Association (HOSA) and this funding will help the HOSA team with registration expenses for competitions and other HOSA-related activities. Students have needed to fundraise several thousand dollars each year to attend HOSA. The less time students spend fundraising, the more time they can spend preparing for competition, practicing their nursing skills and engaging in community service opportunities.
