Beaver Creek Stream Channel Study and Restoration Project

Academic Enrichment Grant

 2015-2016 Project Summary

Keiffer Tarbill

Portland Lutheran School • Portland, OR

Students at Portland Lutheran School are already knee deep in the Beaver Creek Stream. But this year? They are getting robots to get wet for them. Not only that, they plan to build the stream monitoring ROV (Remote Operated Vehicles) as part of a cross curricular activity with the Biotechnical Engineering classes. The data collected will help the students, and the community at large better connect to their local environment. The goal of this project is to build a presentation to take to the SOLVE Green Teams Summit. One student project will be chosen to represent the school against over fifty others.
