With the goal of integrating more STEM education into a math education, lego robotics will be incorporated into 7th grade mathematics classes for a quarter of the school year. The goal is to increase engagement, as well as provide students a real-life and practical application of the math they learn in 6th grade and early part of 7th grade.

The program has the unique benefit of serving the same math students for 3 years in a row, so the project can be tailored to student interests, likes and dislikes. The program will explore curriculum materials tailored to specific implementations of the Legos, with a focus on tuning into the students’ needs and interests. The program plans to explore a variety of classroom integration approaches, given the number of possibilities for different projects the students can explore.
