CodeCraft is a professional development series designed for teachers to gain practical skills in game, & web development and cybersecurity. The project aims to contribute to the development of participating teachers by equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to integrate game and web development into their classroom curriculum as well a understand the fundamentals of security online. The project is structured to consist of a series of workshops, each focusing on a specific aspect of game & web development and cybersecurity. Participants will be introduced to fundamental programming concepts, taught how to design and develop games and web applications and learn how to integrate their cybersecurity skills into their existing lesson plans. The series will be delivered in-person annually, allowing for teachers feedback, support, and growth. Through participation in CodeCraft, teachers will be able to enhance their teaching strategies by using digital tools and technology to create engaging learning experiences for their students. They will also be able to foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity in their students through game and web development projects. Cybersecurity and digital citizenship will be taught and embedded into the curriculum to help develop students who practice safety and craft products with the end-user in mind. The project will also contribute to the professional growth of participating teachers. Teachers will have the opportunity to network and collaborate with other educators in the series, exchange ideas, and share best practices. They will also receive ongoing support and resources to help them implement game and web development projects in their classroom.
