Teacher Development Grant 2024-2025 Project Summary

West End Elementary School • Rome, GA

Teachers will form a Professional Learning Community (PLC), to redesign West End Elementary School’s current ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) program. By creating a co-teaching module that meets their student’ learning needs the PLC aims to address the following key professional development objectives:

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the concept of co-teaching and its practical implementation in real classrooms
• Grow skills to facilitate learning content through teachers’ collaborations
• Develop co-teaching skills to teach English learners effectively at West End Elementary School
• Cultivate teacher leadership.

This project hopes to increase student learning, fostering proficiency in both English and content areas.
